The Center for Safer Wireless (formerly Mom for Safe Wireless) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to educating individuals about the potential health effects of wireless products.  The organization was established in July 2009 in Gainesville, Virginia and gained 501(c)(3) status in September 2009.

Our nonprofit focuses on children using cell phones because we don't know the long-term consequences of using a cell phone at an early age for 20, 30, or 40 years.  We do know that radiofrequency radiation from cell phones penetrates the brains of children much deeper than the brains of adults. In 2005, the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics confirmed that children are especially sensitive to all electromagnetic fields because their developing nervous systems are fragile, their brain tissues more conductive and their smaller skeletons more easily penetrated by the waves. We want families to live long, productive, and healthy lives.

In addition, reduced fertility, brain tumors, and parotid gland tumors have been reported in scientific research as a result of long-term exposure to radiofrequency radiation.

The Center for Safer Wireless does not seek to ban wireless products. Instead, it educates people on how to use them to reduce their risks of adverse health effects.
